Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup every little thing he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the negative feedback from others annihilate his dream of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
He started playing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is very abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and always aspires to get better.
