Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient ancestry. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the wild west in a great game for new gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the casino, not like most other poker games that players play with other players. By gambling against the dealer, beginner players do not need to be concerned about any other, more knowledgeable people taking their $$$$.
One more Pai Gow advantage is the relatively slow game pace, rookies should be able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make hasty decisions.
It’s also easier to gamble on for a very long time with only a small amount of money since, to lose, each of your hands needs to be under both of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is given 7 cards face up and the casino gets 7 cards faces hidden.
One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand must be made from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be larger than the casino’s.
