Web poker has become world acclaimed recently, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many types on the earliest poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the casino rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the dealer saying "No further bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other gamblers are given 5 cards each. After you have seen your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you have to either make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s amount is on same level to your beginning bet, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes directly to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus an amount in accordance with the original wager. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The house pays out cash equal to your original bet and fixed odds on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
