Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player in the world by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching the age of one. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover anything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

He started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match.
